Why procrastinate?

Its a beautiful Sunday in my world. The lord rested today and so should we. My almost 5 year old graduated preschool this weekend and she is ready for Kindergarten. I had volunteered to assist with graduation at my kids school among a zillion other mommy related errands. I came to the conclusion that you are in charge of your time and must learn to manage it effectively. There are no bonus hours after your 24 hour day. Did I mention that the best part about graduating preschool is that we as parents get to graduate from the preschool fees as well.

Anyhow, as I was running around all week I realized that most of our frustration and exhaustion comes from procrastination. We put off everything till last minute and then freak out, go off on our children, significant others, and most especially social media because we are under-prepared for almost everything that needs our attention. If we are procrastinators, we are sure to  raise children that are procrastinators as well. Your children live out what they learn. There are so many women who have procrastinated everything including their happiness.  They have chosen to be happy at a future date. You don't only procrastinate day to day tasks and responsibilities, your whole life is a big unprepared mess. Do not talk yourself out of living the best life today. Do not procrastinate tasks along with your happiness. It starts with planning and following through with your day to day tasks. Start with not putting off today's responsibilities and goals for tomorrow. There is Gods timing and it needs your wisdom.

To all my mamipikins, write out checklists and follow through. Include your self on your to do lists. Tell yourself that you will not procrastinate living your dreams. You will not procrastinate creating a better system at home, a system that allows you to be the best version of you. A process that brings out the phenomenal woman you are. Do not procrastinate family time, family vacations, going back to school, spring cleaning, dream chasing, and yes even registering for women empowerment events that will keep you recharged, refocused and empowered.
